Welcome (Hilary 2011)

A warm welcome to yet another exciting Hilary term with OUWC. With the Walking Club you can explore some of Britain's most picturesque landscapes and make some great friends during your time in Oxford. We welcome all members of the University to join us and enjoy the fun of walking, and are currently also accepting non-members.

Come rain or shine, we love being outdoors and exploring the beautiful countryside and hilly areas, generally within a few hours' drive. This term we've planned weekend trips to the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and Exmoor, and a day trip to the Ridgeway. We'll also be walking the entire Oxfordshire Way over a series of local walks. Weekend trips come with the added promise of an evening spent enjoying tasty, communally cooked food in the company of the other members of your trip.

Life in OUWC is more than just walking and exploring, though. We can help interested members with First Aid or Mountain Leader courses. If you're interested in any training, please contact Rob at . We can also lend equipment for members' personal use. Above all, we love eating, drinking and dancing, so don't forget our social events!

I hope you'll take advantage of these opportunities here in OUWC, and help us explore more and more of the wonderful world around us. We also welcome members to participate in the running of the club. Joining the committee gives you very good experience in running one of the larger clubs within the University, and is a lot of fun.

To join the club, please see the membership page.
