Home : Weekend Trips : - Brecon Beacons

Brecon Beacons

28th - 30th November (end 7th week)

Area: Brecon Beacons

Join Helen and Jaya John in exploring the Brecon Beacons, the closest mountains to Oxford and the highest in southern Britain. We’ll be staying at Godre Pentre cottage in Ystradfellte in the heart of the Waterfall Country, with wooded circuits linking several waterfalls right on our doorstep. Other great options include a big day out bagging the highest peaks in the area, including Pen y Fan at 886m, and a ridge walk on the Black Mountain, possibly visiting the lonely and legendary waters of Llyn y Fan Fach.

Please note that the trip includes some serious mountain walking: on at least one day, there will be a significant ascent, with some rough and rocky ground.

Organiser: John John, Physics (jaya.john(a)physics.ox.ac.uk)

Grid Ref: SN929134
