Gordon Riddell and Phil Roberts visit Staffordshire. The Roaches stand as a line guarding the entrance to the south-western edge of the Peak District, worn into fantastic shapes by the elements. The area is a beautiful combination of rock and heather. The approach to the top of the Roaches is a relatively gentle walk up moor-land.
