North York Moors

3rd - 5th February (end 3rd week)

Join Christopher, James and Dom for a weekend exploring the North York Moors. We'll be based at Sinnington Camping Barn, a comfortable stone barn and former granary, near Pickering.

On one day we're planning to hike on the Cleveland Hills - a scenic ridge and the highest area of the moors. There are many possibilities for the other day including open moorland, woodland, picturesque dales and the dramatic coast around Robin Hood Bay. The walking won't be as strenuous as in mountainous areas of the Lakes or Snowdonia. However, we're going up to the highest point (around 450m), aiming to cover a reasonable distance each day and we may be on rough moorland, off paths, some of the time.
